- Jeanette Isabelle Ott, age 82, of the town of Brillion, passed away comfortably on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at her home with her children by her side. Jeanette was born on January 16, 1932, daughter of the late Ray and Mary (Marx) Halbach of Sherwood. She married Leo M. Ott on February 5, 1963. He preceded her in death on January 2, 2002. She enjoyed life with Leo, especially their entire married life on the family farm until he retired. Jeanette worked at Van Abel's Supper Club as the pastry baker for many years and enjoyed that time until she retired at the age of 78. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was anxiously awaiting the birth of her first great grandson that is due in May. Jeanette was always known for her kind heart and generosity. She would help anyone who needed it, often with her wonderful cooking and kind words.
Survivors include her children; Robert (Michelle) Coisman, Cathy (Bill) Knifke, Chris (Ken) Kelch, her grandchildren; Robert (girlfriend Krystal) Coisman, Justin (girlfriend Brittany) and Derek Knifke, Nathan Wickerscheim, Chad and Troy Coisman; her siblings; Al "Crash" Halbach, Rosie Propson, Annie Olson, Sr. Margaret Mary Halbach, Ray (Marilyn) Halbach; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Mary Halbach, her husband, Leo, her children Don Coisman, JoAnn Coisman, Mary Theresa Coisman, and Susan Coisman, her siblings, William (Joyce) Halbach, Donald (Ethel) Halbach, Lucille (Adrian) Mader, Eugene "Smokey" (Joan) Halbach, Jerry Halbach, and James "Butch" Halbach, in-laws, Norb Propson, Neil Olson, and Mert Halbach and other in-laws.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6 at Sacred Heart Parish in Sherwood. The Rev. Mike Betley will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion on Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:30 p.m. A prayer service will conclude the visitation on Wednesday evening. The visitation will continue at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.wieting-funeralhome.com.
The family wishes to thank St. Elizabeth Hospital 2nd floor nurses, med techs, Dr. Cherian, Dr. Baum and Dr. Connors for their wonderful care of Mom and her family, the Calumet County Hospice and all the family and friends who sent their prayers. Mom will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
