      Vandehey, Janet Therese Rose Janet Therese Rose Vandehey, age 75, passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the youngest of five children born to Alfred and Theresa (Green) Vandehey on August 25, 1930, in Appleton.Janet attended Holy Cross Grade School and Kaukauna High School; graduating in 1948. She worked at Zwicker Knitting Mills and Robert Grocery and in 1958 accepted a position as housekeeper for Rev. John P. Schmitt. Janet worked with Fr. Schmitt for 46 years serving the parishes in Plainfield, Hilbert, De Pere, Sugar Bush, and in 1992 retiring to Two Rivers. During her employment with Fr. John, Janet utilized her excellent cooking skills entertaining many visiting priests and bishops. She also kept her family and friends supplied with her delicious brownies and cookies. Despite her own war with esophageal cancer, she spent many hours at Fr. John's bedside, caring and nursing for him during his illness. Janet is survived by her sister, Rosann (Joseph) Appleton, Kaukauna; brother, Eugene (JoAnn), Little Chute; sister in law, Marian Vandehey, Kimberly; nieces and nephews; Judy (Elmer) Van Dyke, Jackie (fiancee Keith Bauman) Vandehey, John (Val) Vandehey, Jeff Van Dyke, David (Jan) Appleton, Richard (Peggy) Appleton, Susi (special friend Mark Tatro) Vandehey, Patti (Jack ) Van Hoof, Barb Deering, Nancy Vandehey, Mike (Paula) Vandehey, Katie Hooper, Mary (Dave) Verboomen, Deb (Kev) Van Dyn Hoven, Mark (Sheila) Vandehey, special friends, Toni and Bob Becker, Therese and Tom Schmitt and their daughters, Abbey and Katie, Mary Ann and James Schmitt, all of Two Rivers and Kathryn Gorski. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Milton (Florence); brother Glen; sister in law, Donna Vandehey and nephew, Paul Vandehey. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Monday January 29, 2006 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street Kaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarkey and Fr. Bill O'Brien concelebrating. Friends will be received on Sunday January 28th at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna from 4 p.m. until the 8 p.m. and again on Monday at Church from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 766-2099.
