- Jane A. (Brooks) Jansen passed away with her family by her side on Monday, September 23, 2013, at St. Paul's Home. She was born October 14, 1920, daughter of Earl and Ann (Britton) Brooks in Ladysmith, WI. Mom's loves in life included her family, cooking, canning, sewing, reading, PICTURE TAKEN and the Brooks visiting from Washington.
Jane graduated from Ladysmith High School. After raising her family she attended Outagamie County Teachers College in Kaukauna. She then earned her degree from U.W. Oshkosh. She retired from Gimbels at the age of 72. Jane was a long time member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, Unit #258, Little Chute.
Jane is survived by her children: Coreen Sanders, Ron (Brenda) Jansen, Jerry (Ann) Jansen Jr., Mary Gail Van De Hey and Jeff (Deb) Jansen; grandchildren: Ann (Joe) Horn, Brian (Robin) Sanders, Jon (Paula) Sanders, Guy Sanders, Ronnie (Vicki) Jansen, Hope Dame, Angela (Clayton) Willis, Bill (Terri) Schatz, Matt (Jan) Schatz, Shelley (Steve) Dougan, Christopher Michael Jansen, Heather (friend Jeff) McNinch, Tania (Donald) Nelson, Melissa (Kevin) Genske, Kim Stelow, Melanie Van De Hey, Joseph Vosters, Dan (Tina) Tischer, Chad Jansen, Dana (Josh) Hanson, Kara (Fiancé Jason) Jansen, Jake (Jackie) Jansen; 63 great grandchildren; 18 great great grandchildren with two more on the way; brothers: Oliver "Bud" Brooks, Jack Brooks and Buster Brooks; many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Bradley Schatz; sisters: Ardith (Bill) Pruissen and Dorothy "Sis" Brooks; sisters-in-law, Laurie Brooks and Lorraine Brooks; father of her children, Roy Jansen.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 28, 2013, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 323 S. Pine St., Little Chute, with Fr. Ron Belitz officiating. Inurnment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
The Jansen family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Paul's Home, all the friends she met, Dr. Shanti Joseph and Dr. Patrick Gregory for their personal care.
