- DE PERE - Hugh Burt, 54, town of Lawrence farmer, died Thursday night in a Green Bay hosptial. He had collapsed earlier in the day while at work in his woodlot. Death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage.
A lifelong resident of Lawrence, Mr. Burt was born July 20, 1899 and was a member of St. John Lutheran church at Wrightstown. Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Lavina Burt, Wrightstown; his wife, the former Emily Zastrow; a daughter, Mrs. John Davis, West De Pere; three sons, Leslie, Greenleaf, (Living) of West De Pere and (Living), at home; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Melvin, Kimberly; a stepbrother, Roy, Menasha and three sisters, Mrs. Jacob Dashner of Little Rapids, Mrs. Gladys Vandevoort, Wrightstwon and Mrs. Robert French, West De Pere.
The body is at the Ryan funeral home where friends may call after 1 o'clock Satuday afternoon. The body will be removed to St. John Lutheran church, Wrightstown, at 11 o'clock Monday morning. Funeral services will be conducted there at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon by the Rev. Henry Pussehl, pastor, and burial will be in South Lawrence cemetery.
