- Herman Knorr, 83, who has made his home here for the past several years with his daughter, Mrs. Elmer Gartzke, died suddenly Sunday.
He was born Sept. 11, 1855 in Germany, a son of Mr. and Mrs. David Knorr and came to America at the age of 28, locating in Rantoul. He was married in 1886 to Miss Marie Eggert, who preceded him in death in 1890. In 1893 he was married to Mary Halbachek and the couple made their home at Maple Grove, Hortonville, Antigo and later at Reedsville, where his wife died in 1919.
Survivors are six daughters; Mrs. Henry Zimmer, Mrs. William Schisel, Mrs. Edw. Wojan, Mrs. Ella Butler, all of Antigo; Mrs. William Pennings, Little Chute; and Mrs. Elmer Gartzke, and son, William, Summit Lake, a sister, Mrs. William Hein, Appleton.
The remains lay in state at the Erbe-Hoffmann funeral home until Wednesday when funeral services were held at the Friedens Evangelical Church at Reedsville. The Rev. J. E. Siegel officiated and interment was in the Brillion cemetery.
