- Helen Gilles - Chilton Times - Brothertown - May 14, 1898. Died, at her home, Tuesday morning at 9:30, Miss Helen, daughter of Peter J. Gilles, of quick consumption. Miss Gilles had been ailing for about two years. She had been at work at Fond du Lac this spring and returned home only last week. She was up and ate her breakfast with the family and wrote a letter to a friend at Fond du Lac. Then she complained of being dizzy and partially blind and dropped away as if going to sleep. She was 23 years old and a young lady who was loved and respected by all who became acquainted with her. In her sudden death, she leaves a father, two brothers and three sisters to mourn. Her funeral will probably take place from the Catholic church at Jericho, of which she was a devoted member, Thursday.
