      Springstroh, Helen (Verhagen) Helen Springstroh, age 88, of Waupaca. Helen was called home on June 29, 2006. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the memories of spending time with her family. Helen Mary Elizabeth Verhagen was born at home on April 8, 1918, in Wrightstown, WI, the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Van Deurzen) Verhagen. She married Raymond Springstroh on June 29, 1944, in Appleton. Helen was employed at Appleton Medical Center for 15 years.

      She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carole (Richard) Peters; three grandchildren: Lisa (Steve) Wendt, Seymour, WI; Ruth (William) Snitselaar, Hortonville, WI; and Richard (Therese) Peters, Darboy, WI; five great-grandchildren: Courtney and Heather Wendt; Will and Grace Snitselaar and Evelyn Peters. She is further survived by a brother and sister-in-law: Raymond (Martha) Verhagen, Wrightstown, WI; a sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary (Byron) Derricks, Kaukauna, WI; and a sister-in-law, Grace Verhagen, Kaukauna, WI.

      Helen was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 1994; sisters: Mildred Powell, Marie Clark, Clara Rutten, Eunice Borta, Agnes Penterman; three brothers: Leo, Norbert and Raphael Verhagen.

      The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2006, at the Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton, with Rev. Ron Ash officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
