- Helen Marie Antonia Catherine (Vanden Broek) Yach died peacefully on January 7, 2019. She was born to John and Henrietta (Vosbeck) Vanden Broek on January 3, 1921 and enjoyed 98 years of life on earth before going to her eternal home in Heaven.
She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, friend, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and to all who were privileged to know her. She married Captain Jerome S. Yach, U.S. Army Air Corps on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1945, and thereafter enjoyed being a homemaker, trying new recipes almost daily. Every meal had to have a dessert, so her recipe file was loaded with delicious cakes, pies and cookies!
Helen enjoyed being a mother to her four children, Carole, Ronald, Steven and Julie. She was a shining example of graciousness, kindness and acceptance of Gods will for her. Her grandchildren have fond memories of her candy bars for the ride home, individual boxes of sugared cereal, pails of Neapolitan ice cream and playing the card game Casino with them.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Carole (Thomas) Guyette, Green Bay, Kathy Yach, Rhinelander, Steven (Leslie) Yach, Spokane, WA, and Julie Chenail, Spring Hill, FL, her sister, Grace, Zephyrhills, FL, as well as her twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Jerome, her parents, her son Ronald, her sister Anna Mae, her son-in-law Bruce Chenail, brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as other members of her extended family.
In your honor, Mom, well all enjoy a Whiskey-Sweet Old Fashioned with one olive!
Family and friends may visit at St. Norbert College Parish at Old St. Joseph Church, 100 Grant Street, De Pere beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Father Peter Ambting officiating. Entombment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton.
