- Helen Kathleen Fitzgerald Feil ( Mrs. Willard Feil), a native of Manitowoc, Wisconsin, died Monday December 18th at 93 years old.
Born on May 14, 1924 as one of six children to John Patrick & Cecilia ( nee' Brouillard) Fitzgerald, she grew up on a Maple Grove, Wisconsin cattle farm and often shared fond memories of a bucolic childhood. After graduating from Lincoln High School, she married Willard Barton Feil in Manitowoc on April 14, 1942.
The mother of seven children, 3 girls and four boys, Helen was an efficient and devoted homemaker, proficient in cooking, gardening and sewing. A devout Catholic, she reared her children in Deerfield and Glencoe, Illinois in the Catholic faith. While her children were in school, she enjoyed working in the offices of Chicago's J.C. Penny, and was an avid member of her local bridge club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willard Feil, her sister Mary Jane White, her brothers John Edward Fitzgerald and Merle Fitzgerald, her son-in-law, John Lindquist, and her three grandchildren David Lindquist, Brian Feil, and Laura Lindquist Preston.
She is survived by her seven children: Karen Lindquist, Cheryl Abrahamson, Lois Hooker, William Feil, Lief Feil, Brenden Feil, Kurt Feil, and each of their living spouses. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and her brothers, William J. Fitzgerald, and Gerald Fitzgerald, both of Manitowoc. She will be missed by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Private family burial is scheduled at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
