      Harvey R. Springstroh Jr., 78, of Freedom, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. He was born on October 1, 1937, son of the late Harvey Sr. and Lorraine (Abel) Springstroh. He graduated from Freedom High School, Class of 1955

      On February 8, 1958, Harvey married Donna Peters at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton. He served his country in the National Guard for 6 years, and has been a long time member of the Krause-Kraft American Legion Post #106, Seymour. Harvey worked at Dombrowski Home Moving, Ed Schroeder Construction, Kimberly Clark, 23 years at Fox Tractor and 22 years at Freedom Lumber.

      Harvey enjoyed spending time outdoors. He also liked to play cards, go for car rides and polka music. His main love however was his family. He cherished time spend with his many grandchildren. Harvey was very honored to have a great grandson to carry on his name to the next generation, Harvey Grant Springstroh.

      Harvey is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his children: Cindy (Vern) Van Schyndel, Mike (Mary) Springstroh, Donny (Pam) Springstroh, Steve (Missy) Springstroh, Tom (Traci) Springstroh; his grandchildren: Craig (Helen) Van Schyndel, Michelle (Jimmy) Lynch, Scott (Lisa) Van Schyndel, Trevor (Angela) Hopfensperger, Shayna (Nate) Geurts, Sean Springstroh, Kevin (Bailey) Springstroh, Samantha (Brandon) Dobberstein, Megan (William) Wagner, Nic Springstroh, Trisha (Troy) Buelow, Tyler (Brittney) Springstroh, Travis Springstroh, Timmy Springstroh and Tarra Springstroh; 14 great grandchildren with 2 on the way; siblings: Marvin (Pat) Springstroh, Jerry (Donna) Springstroh, Shirl (Don) Fischer; brothers-in-law: Denny Peters and David (Lori) Peters; his little boy, Tyce; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Lorraine Springstroh; step-father, Otto Schmidt; mother and father-in-law, Violet and Clarence Peters; step mother-in-law, Erdine Peters; sisters-in-law: Carine Springstroh and Nancy Peters.

      Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at the Verkuilen-Van Deurzen Family Funeral Home FREEDOM Location, N3972 Columbia Ave., Freedom, with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwarra officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will immediately follow at Community Lutheran Cemetery.
