    • Harold N.J. Eggert, age 91, passed away on Monday, February 7, 2011. He was born in Brookside, WI on April 27, 1919, the son of the late Rev. Paul C. and Irma J. (Jaeger) Eggert. On February 16, 1946, he married Ramona L. Ecker. She preceded him in death in 1982. Harold was proud to serve as an officer in the United States Army, field artillery, during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He retired from Allis-Chalmers in 1982. Harold will be remembered for his passion for gardening and his ability to recall events from the past with his uncanny memory.
      Harold is survived by his sons: David (Nancy) Eggert of Appleton and Dan (Eileen) Eggert of Kaukauna; grandchildren: Kevin (Kim) Eggert of Appleton, and Zach and Katie Eggert of Kaukauna; brother, Gerhardt "Sam" (Ruth) Eggert of Berlin; and sisters-in-law: Jeannine Eggert and Annie Ruth Eggert.
      He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona; brothers: Karl, Paul and Rupert; and sisters-in-law: Doris and Elva Eggert.
      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 530 W. Parkway Blvd., Appleton, with Rev. Darin D. Aden officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Harold's name is being established for Our Shepherd Child Care and Ministry Center.
