      Appleton
      Age 78, died on Friday, July 9, 1999, at his home. He was born in Britton, South Dakota, on September 3, 1920, to the late Henry and Lena Presteen. On June 18, 1944, he married Bessie Lemke. Harold moved from South Dakota to Black Creek and later to Appleton. He was a veteran of World War Ii, serving in the Navy. He worked at Giddings and Lewis from March of 1951 until his retirement in January of 1983. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bus trips. Harold was a member of Faith Lutheran Church for over 50 years.
      He is survived by his wife, Bessie; sons, Vernon Presteen and friend Kathy Tuttle, Appleton; Gary (Sue) Presteen, Neenah; grandchildren, Eric and Holly Presteen; sisters Elva Anderson, Arizona; Lucille Schultz and Laureta Rohm, Appleton; Dorothy (Carl) Henke, Shawano; borther-in-law, Reinhold Sommers; sister-in-law, Evelyn Lom, Appleton, Appleton; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Margaret Schalming and Mildred Sommers; brothers-in-law, Martin Anderson, Roy Schultz and Gordon Rohm.
      The funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at 11 a.m. at Valley Funeral Home-Appleton with Pastor Paul Brinkman officiating. The visitation will be on Monday at the funeral home from 4 until 7:30 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10 a.m. Until the time of the service.
