    • Everest Antone Vanderzanden, son of Peter N. and Gardena Meeuwsen Vanderzanden, was born March 3, 1914, at Verboort, Oregon. He married Catherine Bonn at Gervais, Oregon. He died on June 8, 1944. He was a mechanic, and had just returned from working on a construction project in Alaska, when he was killed. He was injured fatally when the three-wheeled motorcycle he was driving failed to negotiate a curve at 82nd and Oatfield Road in Milwaukie, Oregon.

He was traveling at a moderate speed, driving from Clackamas to Oregon City, when he crashed into the bank as he apparently lost control, according to witnesses. He was rushed to the Oregon City hospital, where he died about three hours after the accident.

He was survived by his wife Catherine, and three children: Lawrence, 9 months old, Joyce, 2 years old, and Leland, 3 years old. Also surviving, his parents Peter N and Gardena Vanderzanden, Roy, Oregon; six brothers, Charles and Bernard, Clackamas; Wilfred and Victor, Roy; Edward, Banks, and Martin, Cornelius; and three sisters, Mrs. Clifford Cullen, Beaverton, Miss Bertha Vanderzanden, Portland, and Laurencie Jesse, Roy.
