      Wells resident Evelyn Kuster, 88, died Saturday, January 27, 1996, at New Richland Care Center.
      Services were held at 1:30 p.n. Tuesday, January 30, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waldorf, the Rev. Jack Krough officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
      Mrs. Kuster was born October 1, 1907, to William and Josie (Corner) Hass in Freeborn Township, Freeborn County. She attended rural schools and married Sylvester P. Kuster on September 22, 1930, in Wells. They lived in the Alden and Freeborn area, moving to Matawan area in 1943. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its ladies Circle. She enjoyed gardening, canning and quilting.
      She is survived by one son, Gerald "Gary" of Wells; five sisters, Ruth Thisius of Albert Lea, Marqueriette Holland of Princeton, Phyllis Kapaun of Albert Lea, Marilyn Rasmusson of Albert Lea and Dorothy Anderson of Adams, one brother and his wife, Gerald and Mary Hass of Sleepy Eye and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974, one daughter, two sisters and one brother.
