- Evangeline C. (Entringer) Wirtz, age 91, formerly of W6349 Burkshire Lane, Plymouth, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 15, at Plymouth Care Center where she had been a resident for the past seven months.
She was born on Oct. 1, 1913 in St. Cloud, Wis. (Fond du Lac County) a daughter of the late Jacob and Theresa Schaefer Entringer.
She attended St. Claudius Grade School.
On June 20, l935 she married Herbert L. Wirtz at St. Claudius Catholic Church in St. Cloud, Wis. The couple farmed in the Town of Greenbush from 1935 until 1970 when they moved to Plymouth. Her husband preceded her in death on May 20, l998.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.
She was a former member of St. Cloud Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Society.
During her retirement, she enjoyed dancing, listening to big band music and spending time with her family. She was most content when surrounded by her family.
Survivors include five sons, Robert (Sandy) Wirtz of Glenbeulah, Denis (Pat) Wirtz of Glenbeulah, Joe (Terry) Wirtz of Glenbeulah, Peter (Rose) Wirtz of Plymouth and John (Elsie) Wirtz of Plymouth; four daughters, Verla Schneider of Plymouth, Marlene (Dave) Schaefer of Plymouth, Jane Wirtz of Plymouth and Linda (Pat) Zorn of Elkhart Lake; 18 grandchildren, Richard Wirtz of Plymouth (fiancee, Jody Konz), Patricia Wirtz of Sheboygan, Tom (Roxanne) Wirtz of Wausau, Deb (Dan) Schwingle of Salem of Ohio, Lori (Greg) Grimes of Plymouth, Cheri (Dave) Macomber of Oshkosh, Peggy Wirtz-Olsen and her husband Scott Olsen of Belgium, Kelly (Kerry) Zimmerman of Sheboygan, Chris Schaefer of Plymouth, Kathy (Bryon) Trewin of Fond du Lac, Tony (Margaret) Wirtz of Denver, Colo., Sue (Wayne) Steffes of St. Cloud, Scott (Carla) Wirtz of Greenbush, Jenny (Jason) Lutzke of Elkhart Lake, Michael (Angela) Wirtz of Elkhart Lake, Lucas Wirtz of Kenosha, Justin Wirtz of Plymouth and Abby Zorn of Elkhart Lake; two step grandchildren,Gina (Jeff) Lentz of Plymouth and Steve (Angela) Zeyen of Hastings, Minn.; 20 great-grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren, twelve brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Olga Roehrig of Malone, Regina Wirtz of Chilton, Alice (Rudy deceased) Wirtz of Fond du Lac, Rita Ciske of Fond du Lac, Genevieve Julka of Fond du Lac, Lorraine Wirtz of Mt. Calvary, Alice (Phil, deceased) Wirtz of Fond du Lac, Betty Wirtz of South Bend, Ind. and Priscilla (Frank) Staab of Longwood, Fla.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jacob Wirtz; one son-in-law, Gerald Schneider; two sisters and brother-in-laws, Agnes (Ray) Stephany and Genevieve (Clemens) Abler; three brothers and sister-in-law, Leo, Victor and Edwin (Lorraine) Entringer; and nine brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ambrose, Phillip, Herman, Rudolph and Edgar Wirtz, Jerry and Estella Hahn, Ambrose Roehrig and Bernard Julka.
