      Mrs. John P. Hoffman (Eugenia Hopfensperger) 2515 S. Telulah, Appleton Age 76, died on Monday, April 28, 1997 at the Appleton Medical Center. Jean was born on March 31, 1921 in Sherwood to the late Matt and Valesca (Stommel) Hopfensperger. She married John Hoffman on July 26, 1945 in Darboy. He died April 10, 1987. Jean loved children and babysat often. She loved to cook, bake and be a homemaker, with a special love for her grandchildren.
      Survivors include a daughter, Nancy (Welhouse), Hollandtown; three sons: Dennis (Kathy) Hoffman, Darboy; Thomas (Yun Cha) Hoffman, Appleton; Kenneth Hoffman, Kimberly; a daughter-in-law, Judy Hoffman, Appleton; three brothers : Greg (Bonnie) Hopfensperger, Brillion; Carl (Caroline) Hopfensperger, Indiana; James (Joyce) Hopfensperger, Black Creek; and a sister-in-law, Irene Hopfensperger, California; six sisters; Ernesta Wysocki, Milwaukee; Geneva (John) Hanges, Appleton; Renetta Voigt, Menasha; Charolette (Tony) Guckenberger, Appleton; Donna (Joseph) Bouressa, Greenbay; Sharon Hopfensperger, Menasha; 13 grandchildren: Chad (his friend Kris) Welhouse, Sheri (fiance Ben) Welhouse, John, Peter (Jade), Jennifer,Virginia, Elizabeth, Mary, Kimberly, Amber, Jeannie, Amanda, and Tyler Hoffman. Also a great grand-son, Luke Hoffman. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law; Ruth Hoffman and Agatha Hoffman; and a special friend, Carey Krueger. She was preceded in death by a son, William; three brothers; Edgar, Elwood, and Matt. Jean was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church, Appleton and was a member of the Christian Mothers at Holy Angels Catholic Church for many years.
      The funeral liturgy will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday April 30, 1997, at Holy Angels Catholic Church, Hwy KK, Darboy, with Donald Fuller officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Angels Catholic Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and again Wednesday directly at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
