- Esther W. Fuerst, age 95, of Appleton, passed away Monday morning, September 14, 2015, at Brewster Village. Esther was born July 3, 1920, in Hollandtown, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Anton and Bardean (Van Linn) Tiesling. She moved to the Appleton area at an early age.
On April 6, 1940, the former Esther Tiesling married Edward Fuerst Sr., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Appleton. Edward preceded Esther in death on April 3, 1976.
Esther was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church. She will always be remembered as a wonderful homemaker and cook. Esther enjoyed reading, discussing and following politics, watching Jeopardy and following the Green Bay Packers.
Esther is survived by her children, Edward Jr. (Kathleen) Fuerst, Jean (David) Schroeder and Kathleen (Dennis) Tease; six grandchildren, Keri Nelson, Kurt Hintz, Kevin (Shawn) Hintz, Brian (Terri) Van Grinsven, Melissa (Brent) Rehberg and Christopher (Rachel) Tease; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by eight step grandchildren; ten step great-grandchildren; thirteen step great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and one sister, Mabel Welhouse.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; daughter-in-law, Nancie Fuerst; three sisters, Elsie, Genevieve and Ruth; and five brothers, Sylvester, Clarence, Jacob, Louis and Arthur and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2015, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 213 E. Wisconsin Avenue, Appleton, with Father Donald Zuleger officiating. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
You have been the most wonderful Mother and Grandmother. The strength that you have portrayed throughout your entire life has been truly remarkable. You lived your life for your family and have touched the lives of many. We love you so very much and are going to miss you. Thank you for a lifetime of beautiful memories. You will remain in our hearts forever.
