      DeGroot, Esther Margaret Esther Margaret DeGroot, age 86, passed away on March 27, 2006, after a short illness, at home with her loving family around her. She was born February 14, 1920, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Geising) DeGroot. Esther was a farmer and loved baking, trying new recipes, she was well known for her special Lemon Meringue pie and her famous Sea foam and real Fudge candies. She had a love for planting and growing flowers. Her family and friends will miss her deeply. Esther is survived by her caregivers: Gordon (Bev) Baumgart and Fred Baumgart; special friend, Jessie Meyerhofer; Robert Rutten and Debbie Haasley. She is further survived by nephews: Anton (Jean) DeWitt, Frank DeWitt, Bob (Carol) DeWitt, Bill (Dorothy) DeWitt, Victor (Karen) DeGroot, John (Diane) Baumgart, and Michael (Patti) Baumgart; and nieces: Elizabeth Jarchow, Mary Brown, Rose (Ken) Huss, Elizabeth (Bob) Price, Theresa Halverson and Geraldine Baumgart; and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by sisters: Frances (Kenneth) Hahnemann, Minnie (Anton) DeWitt, and Edith (Gordon) Baumgart; brother, Victor (Rita) DeGroot; nephews: Carl J. Baumgart, Jesse Baumgart and Dan DeGroot; and the love of her life, her special, special niece, Michelle (Baumgart) Rutten. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2006, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks, with Rev. James Lucas officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at church. Interment will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. The family of Esther would like to send a special thank you to Rev.
