- Esther Magdeline Schnese, 86, of Kimberly, went to heaven on April 13, 2016. She is now in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Esther was born on September 1, 1929 to Edward and Elizabeth (Kitzinger) Pleier. On October 11, 1952 she married Marvin H. Schnese who she met through the Don Bosco Club. They enjoyed 47 years together in marriage until Marvin's death on July 1, 1998.
Family was important to Esther. She enjoyed travelling from a young age, going to Washington DC with her girlfriends during high school. She worked at Kimberly Clark, at the Kimberly facility in the personnel department. When she started a family of her own vacations included memorable trips to Iron Mountain with a large order of Hot Dogs at Dog'N Suds, Peshtigo Fire and a far reaching trip to Yellowstone National Park and the weekend trips to the trailer at Berry Lake. She enjoyed bowling and dancing with her husband Marvin. She donated time and treasure to Mothers and Unborn Baby care, Inc. in Appleton which she championed for many years. After Marvin's death she reached out to the Widows of Prayer for comfort and support.
Esther will be missed by her 10 children, Ellen (Mike) Hruzek, Kimberly, Diane (Boyd Brandon), Schnese, Kimberly, the wife of the late Mark Schnese, Richard (Judy) Schnese, Darboy, Julie (Hugh) Meyerhofer, Appleton, William (Sharon) Schnese, Appleton, Michael (Kathy) Schnese, Appleton, David (Carol) Schnese, Appleton, Mary (Doug) Van Handel, Winneconne, Paula (Terry) Mollica, California, Lynn (Paul) Arts, Combined Locks, her 24 grandchildren, Jessica (Ben) Delfin, NY, Andrea (Mike) Graber, Kimberly, Danielle (Andrew) Block, Appleton; Greg Schnese, NY , Tim (Heide) Schnese, Milwaukee; Jamie (Brian) Ross, Appleton, Brandon Schnese, Appleton; Cody Schnese, Darboy; Abby Sullivan, Kimberly, Todd Sullivan, Milwaukee; Amber (Jeremy) Eisenschink, Kaukauna; Rachaele (Mike) Peterson, Kaukauna; Dylan (Ashley) Schnese, Neenah, Jake Schnese, Appleton; Mason Schnese, Darboy, Brianna Schnese, Darboy; Tamara (Derek) Hiroskey, Winneconne, Ben (Beth) Van Handel, Appleton, Fischer Van Handel, Milwaukee; Dana Lee Mollica, CA, Adam Mollica, CA, Jason Gegere, Green Bay; Austin Arts, TX and Marcus Arts, FL. Further survived by 18 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Priscilla Vosters, two brothers-in-law, Carl Schnese and Larry Schnese, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Edna, her husband, Marvin, her son, Mark, her siblings, three sisters, Lorraine Hermsen, Florence Van Zummeren, Marie Day and one brother, Norman Pleier, her father and mother-in-law, Art and Ann (Van Dinter) Schnese, brothers-in-law, Ken and Flavian Schnese.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at 12 NOON at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 600 E. Kimberly Ave., in Kimberly. Family and friends may call, at the CHURCH, from 10 AM until time of Mass. Fr. David Pleier officiating. Interment Holy Name in Kimberly following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mothers and Unborn Baby Care, Inc. in Esther's name encouraged.
Esther's family thanks the entire staffs of Thedacare at Home Hospice and Heritage Hospice for their loving care of our mother.
We love you so much Mom that words are hard to say. Our hearts ache, we will miss you today and every day.
