Wrightstown
Age 70, passed away Saturday morning at a Green Bay hospital. He was born February 11, 1912 in Wrightstown to the late Pete and Rose Bries Vande Hey, and lived in this area all his life. He married the former Gertrude Van Cuyk on May 17, 1947, at Combined Locks. He was a Wrightstown businessman and worked as a supervisor of the Brown County Highway Department. He served as a trustee for St. Paul's Parish. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the American Legion Post 436. He was a veteran of World War II and a recipent of the Purple Heart.
Survivors are his wife; four sons and daughters in-law, Thomas and Janice of Wrightstown; Tobert and Bonnie of De Pere; Jack and Valerie of Wrightstown; and Mark of Chicago; six daughters and sons in-law, Mary Jo and Jerry Kussow and Barbara of De Pere; Susan and Bob Behnke of Brillion; Jayne of Madison; Kay and Karen, at home; one brother, Walter of Green Bay; seven sisters, Mrs. Martin [Margaret] engelhardt of Sheboygan; Mrs. Julian [Mabel] Weisgerber of Neenah; Mrs. Lester [Florence] Mitchell of Appleton; Mrs. Kenneth [Clara] Wallace of Arkansas; Mrs. Lawrence [Gladys] Verhagen of Kaukauna; Mrs. Thomas [Dorothy] Planner of Appleton; Mrs. Mark [Frances] Verbeten of Wrightstown; four grandchildren.
Three brothers preceded him in death. The American Legion will hold a military funeral on Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Wrightstown, with the Rev. Richard Shafer officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the De Wayne Funeral Home, Wrightstown, beginning at 3 p.m. Monday. There will be a prayer service at 8 p.m.
