    • Emeranda (Ranny) F. Mies, age 79, formerly of St. Anna, died Tuesday morning, May 9, at Calumet Homestead, New Holstein, where she was a resident for 16 months. She is the former Emeranda Klaeser, born August 23, 1909, in Kiel, daughter of Frank and Emma Jeanty Klaeser. She attended schools in Kiel. On October 20, 1929, she married Claude Mies in Kiel. The couple lived in Kiel until his death on March 3, 1958. For 28 years she was a housekeeper for Walter Wiskerchen of St. Anna. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein.
      Survivors include one brother, Gilbert Klaeser, of Madera, California; one niece and three nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Olive Walters, two brothers, Fred and Joe Klaeser.
      A funeral mass was held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein, with Monsignor Peter Klauck pastor, officiating. Burial was in Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Kiel.
