- Emma B. Gloudeman, Kaukauna, age 90, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at her home with her family at her side, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 6, 1924 in Swansdale, MN to Blaise and Mary (Virant) Gorshe. Emma made her way to Wisconsin and graduated from Neenah High School in 1942. Emma married her husband of 62 years, Theodore J. Gloudeman at St. Mary of Annunciation Church in Kaukauna on April 15, 1944. Emma loved people and volunteering at St. Vinnie's, St. Paul's home, The Food Pantry, Special Olympics, and Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her five children: Sharon (Dave) Koenaman, Lawrence (Nancy) Gloudeman, Steven (Margaret) Gloudeman, Diane (Daniel) Maes, and Rick (Gretchen) Gloudeman; 13 grandchildren: Lisa (Jonathan) Basque, Lori (Scott) Biese, Ross Gloudeman, Chad (Kim) Gloudeman, Brett (Elizabeth) Gloudeman, Paul Gloudeman, Brian Gloudeman, Kristy Maes, Kari (Justin) Van Gheem, DJ (Brittany) Maes, Jason Maes, Adam Londre, and Cole Lenhardt. She also has 16 great-grandchildren: Rachel and Lauren Basque, Carter and Jordan Biese, Autumn Maes and Eaden Bayer, Taylor and Mason Gloudeman, Gabby and Emma Le Captain, Mallory and Samuel Gloudeman, Alyssa Gloudeman, Jaret and Kristopher Maes, and Camden Maes; and many nieces and nephews.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Ted, her sons: Allen and Kenneth; and 10 siblings.
Mass of Christian Burial for Emma will be at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday January 10, 2015 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at St. Mary Church with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends may call on Saturday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the parish Cemetery at 12 noon on Wednesday January 14, 2015. In lieu of flowers, contributions should be made to Special Olympics or Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. The family has chosen Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna to assist them.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice at St. Paul's Home, especially Melissa Orth for their loving care. Also her special friends and neighbors, Betty and Denny Mereness, Phyllis Van Derra, Carl and Carleen Hoffman, and the family of Cooney Simon.
