- Elwin Meyer, 83, Route 2, New Holstein, died Dec. 17, at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton.
He was born in the town of Charlestown Dec. 18, 1897, a son of George and Anna Timm Meyer. He attended New Holstein schools graduating from New Holstein High School in 1914.
Mr. Meyer married Rose Jaeckels June 19, 1928 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. The couple farmed in rural New Holstein until retiring in 1970.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, New Holstein, past president of its Holy Name Society, was an usher in the church for 25 years, and was a member of the New Holstein Senior Citizens.
Survivors are his wife; a son, George, of Poynette; three daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Betty Ann) Duzinski, of Ripon, Mrs. Gordon (Rosemarie) Thome, Route 2, New Holstein and Mrs. Paul (Patricia) Buechel, of Brookfield; 10 grandchildren; two great grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Mikkelson of Des Plaines, Ill., Mrs. Mabel Peterson, of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Millicent Ebersberger of Oshkosh.
He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
A funeral Mass was held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph Hermsen, pastor, was celebrant of the Mass. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
