Age 94, died Wednesday, June 15, 1994 at Parkside Care Center. She was born March 6, 1900 in Wrightstown, the daughter of the Late John and Julia [Verbeten] Van Lannen. Elvira married Gordon McDaniel and they farmed in Kaukauna for 25 years. She worked at Prange's in Appleton for 16 years. She married Harold Verbeten in 1974 and moved to Lake Boundry in Crivitz, they returned to Little Chute in 1985. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna, VFW Auxiliary 3319 and the Christian Mothers.
She is survived by two sons and three daughters in-law; Victor and Jane McDaniel, Appleton; James and Betty McDaniel, Kaukauna; Dona McDaniel, Neenah; two daughters and four sons in-law; Margaret and Lyle, Kaufman, Kimberly; Jane and David George, Kaukauna; Clarence Sullivan, Kaukauna; Paul Kersten, Appleton; 24 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; a brother, Howard Verbeten, Little Chute. She is further survived by nine step-children; Lorraine and Harvey Van Vreede, Blanche and Geranl Pynenberg, Carol and Ronald De Bruin all of Little Chute; Florence and John DeGoey, Combined Locks, Marion and Clyde Helein, Appleton; Lois and Donald Gonnering, Freedom; Earl and Elizabeth Verbeten, Kaukauna; Ralph and Evelyn Verbeten, Little Chute; Robert and Doris Verbeten, Little Chute; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon McDaniel in 1946; her second husband Harold Verbeten in 1986; four children; Anna Marie McDaniel, Mary Sullivan, Joan Kersten and John H. McDaniel; three grandchildren; Carl McDaniel, Mary McDaniel and John Kersten.
The funeral services will be at 5 p,n, Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Father Paul Paider officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Sniderville. Friends may call at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., from 3 p.m. on Friday until the time of services. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. There will be no visitation at the Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna.
