- Elmer H. Dedering, 70, of 704 First St., Kiel, died Saturday night at St. Nixcolas Hospital, where he had been a patient for four days.
He was born May 22, 1913, in Steinthal (Manitowoc County) a son of Matthias and Emma Bunge Dedering. He attended district school. His marriage to Mildred Mueller took place in 1936. She died in 1945. He married Elsie Wendling on June 11, 1948 in Kiel. Mr. Dedering began a carpenter business in Kiel in 1946. Prior to that, he had been employed at several factories.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Robert of Kiel; nine stepdaughters, Marie Kienbaum, Jeannette Graf, Goergiana Breit, Sylvia Anhalt, Delores Kauth, Elsie Arnold, all of Kiel, Barbara Schwind of Glenbeulah, Diane Twohig of Fond Du Lac and Nancy Weir of El Paso, Texas; three stepsons, Glenroy Wendling of Collins, Jerome Wendling and Rudolph Wendling, both of Kiel; a grandson; 41 step grandchildren; 34 great step grandchildren; and a sister Leona Voland of Rockford, Ill.
A brother, a daughter, and a granddaughter preceded him in death.
