- Mr. Elmer Loehlein, 93, Green Bay resident, died peacefully with his family at his side March 22, 2002, at Parkview Manor. The son of the late Joseph and Anna Meeuwsen Loehlein was born June 16, 1908, in De Pere and lived in the De Pere/Green Bay area all of his life.
Mr. Loehlein and the former Lillian Vanden Houten were married at St. Marys Catholic Church in De Pere May 1, 1935. She preceded him in death on April 8, 1992.
Mr. Loehlein was employed at Kraft Cheese for 25 years. He was a member of St. Bernards Parish and following his retirement from Kraft, was janitor at St. Bernards Parish.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Darleen and Lyle Wilquet, Green Bay, and Rosemary and Todd Darrow, Minocqua; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Dave Swette, Wendy and Jim Zill, Tom and Lori Wilquet, Paul and Mary Wilquet, Tammy and Steve Skogg, Mike and Brenda Darrow, Scott and Linda Darrow, Sue and Tim Gore, David Darrow and friend Kathy Filipiak; 12 great-grandchildren, Amber and Jacob Swette, Joshua and Benjamin Zill, Carrie Skogg, Justin and Trevor Darrow, Matthew, Megan and Mark Darrow, Wesley and Cassie Carter; one great-great-grandchild, Deion Skogg.
Elmer is also survived by one sister, Eleanor Jacobs, De Pere; two sisters-in-law, Bridget and Tillie Loehlein, Green Bay; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Arthur and Al; two sisters, Margaret and Rita.
Friends may call at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, after 9:30 a.m. Monday until time of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Jerry Pastors officiating. Burial in the Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Proko-Wall Funeral Home is assisting the family, 468-4111. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in Elmers name for the Social Concerns Committee at St. Bernards Parish.--Green Bay Press-Gazette
