- Elisabeth C. Klaeser, 95, of Kiel, died Thursday afternoon, April 11, 2002, at the Calumet Medical Center, Chilton.
She is the former Elisabeth Rock born Nov. 6, 1906 in School Hill, daughter of the late William and Elisabeth Schaller Rock.
She attended school in Spring Valley. On April 12, 1926 she married Harry J. Klaeser at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic church, Kiel. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1977. The couple owned and operated Klaeser Supermarket in Kiel until retiring in 1962.
Elizabeth was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, a member and past president of the Christian Women's Society of the church, and very active member since 1925 of the Lady Foresters and a very active member since 1978 of the Kiel Senior Citizens, making many of her delicious pies for various bake sales. She was an avid card player and loved gardening and sewing.
Survivors include her children; Janet McKay of Manitowoc, Richard (Bernice) Klaeser of Kiel, Kathryn (Donald) Wagner of New Holstein; and Frances (Rocco) Voci, Canadian Lake, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; one brother, Norbert (Gladys) Rock of Kiel and one sister, Lorraine (Robert) Michels of Manitowoc.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers-in-law; Marie and Leo Klaeser, Kathryn and Herbert Langemak, and Viola and Leo Walsdorf; son-in-law, Sherman McKay; and sister–in-law and brother-in-law, Anita and Al Mayo.
A funeral Mass will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel with the Rev. Loren Nys SDS officiating.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
