Kropp, Mrs. Ambrose (Eleanor)
Mrs. Ambrose (Eleanor) Kropp, 92, Seymour, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007. She was born Dec. 24, 1914, in Green Bay, to Antone and Ida (Collard) Verheyden. On Nov. 12, 1932, Eleanor was united in marriage to Ambrose "Curly" Kropp in Green Bay. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2007. The couple would have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary this year. Eleanor was employed by the Stokley canning factory in her early years. She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Parish and was a past member of the Christian Mothers. Eleanor lived her life to the fullest but especially enjoyed the time she would spend with her family. Many days were spent with her husband "Curly" at the lake cottage in Lakewood, Wis. Eleanor enjoyed square dancing and snowmobiling and enjoyed these times with her many friends and family. Special to Eleanor were the many travels she took with her husband, family and friends.
Eleanor is survived by her children and their spouses, Eugene and Shirley Kropp, Seymour; Joyce and Ken Braun, Black Creek; Kathleen and Denis Gullickson, Seymour; Dennis and Doris Kropp, Cecil; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Norma Gerritts, Dorothy and John VanBoxtel, Lorraine and Elmer Vander Velden; two sisters-in-law, Anita Verheyden and Geneva Verheyden; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband Ambrose "Curly" Kropp; a great-granddaughter, Bobbi Jean Kimball; her parents; three brothers, Earl, Donald and Harvey; two sisters, Martha and Stella; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and their spouses.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave, from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave, from 10 to 11 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the church with the Rev. John Bergstadt officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Eleanor's family thanks all the nurses and staff at Unity Hospice, as well as Eleanor's special caregiver and friend, Dawn Weiland, for all the wonderful care given to Eleanor and her family.
A memorial fund has been established in her name.
