      Edward A. Laurent, age 71, of Weyauwega, passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Lakeview Manor in Weyauwega. He was born on April 1, 1942 in Two Rivers, son of the late Edward and Janet (Taddy) Laurent. On October 3, 1987 he married Beverly Eckelstafer-Stroik in Plover. Edward worked at Voith Paper in Appleton for over 40 years. He also worked at Kolbe & Kolbe in Manawa for 7 years until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on his puzzles and taking walks and car rides with his dog Brittany.

      He is survived by his wife Beverly; children: Lee (Vicki) Laurent, Redgranite; Julie (Jerry) Trammell, Ocala, FL; Cheri (Rick) Sousar, Neenah; step-children: Denise (Keith) Friebel, Weyauwega; Mike (Kelly) Eckelstafer, Plainfield; Donald Eckelstafer, Jonesboro, AR; Darryl Eckelstafer, Plover; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brothers: Claude "Chubby" (Audrey) Laurent, Two Rivers; Jack (Ramona) Laurent, Manitowoc. He is further survived by his first wife Darlene, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marge Pauze.

      A memorial service for Edward will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega with Fr. Jim Vennix officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the funeral home until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

      The family would like to thank Dr. Swanson and his staff, also Theda Care Hospice and Lakeview Manor for their care and concern of Edward.
