      Brewing firm chairman Edgar B. Walter dies
      Edgar B. Walter, 80, Rt. 6, Chippewa Falls, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Walter Brewing Co., died Saturday at Sacred Heart Hospital.
      Mr. Walter had moved to Eau Claire in April, 1933, and with his brothers, Charles and Martin Walter, took over operation of the brewery here. He was the nephew of John Walter who had founded the brewery.
      He was born Dec. 11, 1893 at Appleton and married Ancilla Rossmeissel Jan. 21, 1913 at Appleton.
      Mr. Walter was a member of the John F. Kennedy Council Knights of Columbus, the Elks, Eagles, United Commercial Travelers and the Small Breweries Assn.
      Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Roy Dennis, Mondovi; Mrs. Al Kendall, Reading, Pa., Mrs. James Gagnon, Eau Claire; three sons, Dr. Karl Walter, Dr. William Walter, John Walter, all of Eau Claire; one sister, Mrs. Anna Young, Neenah; and 45 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
      Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Golden Funeral Home and at 12 noon at Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Daniel J. O'Reilly officiating. Burial will be Forest Hill Cemetery.
      Friends may call from 4 p.m. today until services Tuesday at Golden's. Public rosaries will be at 4 and 8 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus rosary at 7 p.m. today.
      Memorial may be given for Mass cards and to the Sacred Heart Hospital intensive care unit.
