    • DOROTHY MAY IONE PANKRATZ Dorothy passed away at age 96 on December 23, 2015 in Riverside, CA. She is survived by two sisters, Donna Hay of Florida and Florence Doverspike of Wisconsin; a brother, Jerome Luebke of Wisconsin; seven children, Marjorie Crane of Wisconsin, David of Santa Rosa, Thomas (Robin) of Delaware, Richard (Virginia) of Ohio, Mary Rogan of New Mexico, Daniel (Kristen) of Huntington Beach, and Sherrill Kearney of Sebastopol; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grand-children. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Robert and one sister, Eunice Novak of Wisconsin. Her parents were George and Agnes (Vogt) Luebke of Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Dorothy was the oldest of five children, born in her grandparent's bedroom in Town of Buchanan, Wisconsin on May 8, 1919. She graduated from Kaukauna High School and from Oshkosh Business College, worked at the Institute of Paper Chemistry at Lawrence College, then married. During her husband's 20-year Army career they lived in Germany, Washington State, Texas and California, finally settling in Riverside in 1956, in part due to the excellent school system. In Riverside she worked for the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, then later at UCR in the Architect's and Engineer's Office. She was a member of the Society of Military Widows (Chapter 13), a docent for the Riverside Heritage House, and volunteered as a Memorial Honor Detail Dispatcher for the Riverside National Cemetery. Originally a Roman Catholic, late in her life she began attending services and became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Dorothy was proud of her children, all of whom received college degrees, including two receiving PhD's, one JD and several MS's. She also has one grandchild with a PhD, another with a Doctorate of Medicine, and several more MS's. She loved gardening and was especially proud of her extensive rose garden and lush pomegranate trees. She loved to travel, both around the United States as well as to Holland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, France, Mexico, Spain, Peru, and Morocco. A viewing for immediate family members was held on December 26, 2015. Memorial services will be held in May 2016 with details to be announced at a later date.
