- Dorothy Lea Marie (Boudreau) Kang, 90, Escanaba, passed away peacefully with her children by her side on Friday December 19, 2014 at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba. She was born on January 13, 1924 in Flat Rock, MI, the daughter of the late Adelore and Delia (Beauchamp) Boudreau. On June 5, 1943 she married the late Frank S. Kang Sr. at Fort Brady in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
Dorothy attended St. Joseph school in Escanaba. She was employed at the House of Ludington and the Escanaba Daily Press. She was also a member of St. Anne's Parish.
Dorothy is survived by six sons: George (Virginia) Kang, Frank S. (Cheryl) Kang Jr., Peter (Jacqueline) Kang, William "Slim" Kang, Paul (Jenna) Kang and Charles (Deanna) Kang, five daughters: Katherine "Prunie" Kang, Linda Maatta, Marcella Hermans, Mary (Russell) Ross and Barbara Nelson, 33 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son: Thomas A. Kang, a daughter: Violet "Punkey" Couillard, a grandson: John A. Kang, a granddaughter: Renee Couillard, a step-granddaughter: Brittney Ross and a son-in-law: Allen Nelson Sr., 18 brothers and sisters: Octave "Frenchie", Leo "Bud", Wilfred, Hubert "Swede", Eugene, Robert, Adelore Jr., Lawrence, John, Kenneth, Russell, Ralph, Raymond, C. Alice, Mildred, Katherine "Katie" Boudreau, Violet Baker and Loretta Norlin.
Friends may call from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday December 23, 2014 at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Anne's Parish with Fr. Francis DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall. Burial will take place in the Holy Cross Cemetery in the spring.
