- Dorothy Nagan, 87, formerly of Kaukauna, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. She was born on Sept. 10, 1922, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of the late Henry J. and Adeline (Plutchak) Schmidt. On July 4, 1941, Dorothy married Eugene Nagan. She enjoyed bowling, sewing and making clothing for her family. Dorothy and Gene spent time together on their long car rides. She always looked forward to having her hair styled. Dorothy enjoyed being a greeter at the Wisconsin Veterans Home and playing bingo.
She is survived by her children: Jeanne (Bob) Sarnowski, Kaukauna; Jackie (Gary) Schuette-Behrendt, De Pere; Dan (Sherri) Nagan, Kaukauna; Bill (Joyce) Nagan, Freedom; Peg (Bill) Wanie, Abrams and Cassi (Tod) Maki, De Pere; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law: Rose Schmidt, Sun City, California. Dorothy is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; two brothers, Bill (Gin) and Bob Schmidt and son-in-law, Don Schuette.
The memorial mass for Dorothy will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL - ST. MARY CHURCH, 119 W. Seventh Street, Kaukauna. Father Jerry Pastors will be officiating. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of mass. Memorials to the Wisconsin Veterans Home are appreciated.
