      Donnetta M. Rutten, 55, of 412 N. Darr, died at a local hospital on Thursday morning. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Livingston-Sondermann Chapel. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7:30 Friday with the rosary being recited at 7:30 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Heart Fund or family choice.

      She was born Oct. 28, 1927, at St. Edward to Robert and Margaret Hittner Speas. She received her schooling at St. Edward. On June 6, 1948, she married Maurice Rutten at Kimball. They lived in Fullerton and Cedar Rapids and in 1954 they moved to Grand Island. She worked in the circulation department at the Daily Independent for 22 years and worked at the Mid-Nebraska Retardation Center as a housekeeper. She retired two years ago due to ill health. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.

      She is survived by her husband, Maurice; mother, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Speas of Spalding; three daughters, Mrs. Larry (Marlene) Heaps and Mrs. Marvin (Connie) McCurdy, both of Wood River, Mrs. Kailin (Colleen) Main of Grand Island; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Jerry (Yvonne) Berendt of Spalding. She was preceded in death by her father, one daughter, Nancy, and one sister.
