- Maxine Donna Kearns, 93, went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2017, 4:31 am, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hay Springs.
Maxine was born on March 22, 1924, at Rushville, NE to Mike and Delia Hindman. She graduated from Rushville High School in 1942. She married Mark Edward Kearns on January 9, 1945 in Rushville, NE. They had one son, Leonard. Mark and Maxine were married for 60 years before Mark passed away August 2, 2005.
She worked at the county clerk office in Rushville for 24 years. Maxine loved gardening. She had beautiful flowers all around her yard. She would always share her vegetables from her garden with family and friends.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mark, sister Verna Heller, and her niece Janie Waters.
She is survived by her son Leonard of Rushville, grandson Gregory Michael (Samantha) Kearns of Colorado, granddaughter Kim (Larry) Larsen of Rapid City, SD, great grandchildren Kaylee, Lindsay, Colby and Kaden, her nieces and nephew Bobby Heller, Adele Harvey and Patsy Dahl.
A rosary service will be held Sunday July 23, 2017, 7:00 PM, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rushville, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday July 24, 2017 at 9:00 AM. Burial will be held at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Rushville, NE.
