- Donna Lee Baumgardner, 55, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at her home, followmg a short illness.
A memorial mass was celebrated at noon Thursday, May 13 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Hillsboro.
Private cremation rites have been held.
Ms. Baumgardner was born Dec. 22, 1948 in Portland to Herbert and Babe Juanita Peters Spiering. She was raised on the family farm in Roy with her grandparents. She attended St. Mary of the Valley School in Beaverton.
She married Rudy Vanderzanden, together raising three children, and later divorced. Ms. Baumgardner worked in the home interior design business. She traveled and received several sales awards. She was employed at the Sherwin WillIams Paint store. Health issues caused her to retire in 1994.
Ms. Baumgardner enjoyed painting and decorating her own home. She enjoyed the outdoors and had
several flower gardens.
She attended St. Matthew Catholic Church for many years and was a member of The Women of the Moose.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother George. Survivors include her children: Anthony
Vanderzanden, Randy Vanderzanden and Amy Livingston Taylor, all of HIllsboro; sister and spouse Darlene Velasquez and Ron Wilson of Hillsboro, step-sister Margie Harris of Clackamas and grandchildren Cody and Alexis.
Services entrusted to Donelson, Sewell and Mathews Mortuary, Hillsboro.
