    • Delvin Nicholas Heimerl, age 78, of Hilbert, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at the Homestead Care Center in New Holstein.

      He was born June 22, 1936 in Hilbert, son of the late John & Margaret (Schreiner) Heimerl. Delvin married Lois Koehler on May 7, 1960 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert.

      He began his working career as a dairy farmer before transitioning to Tecumseh Products in New Holstein where he worked for 15 years.

      In his free time, Delvin enjoyed playing dice and dominoes, listening to Jerry Schneider, watching birds and treasured each and every moment his garden and yard could provide.

      He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert, Holy Name Society and the Eagle's Club in Chilton.

      Survivors include his wife: Lois; sisters: Julie Micke, Marlene (Dick) Eickert, Dorothy (Donnie) Ertl, Nora Schust; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Tony & LeRoy Heimerl; and 2 brothers-in-law: Ed Micke & Pete Schust.

      Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church (108 S. 6th St.) in Hilbert with the Rev. Michael Betley officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 am until 10:45 am on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

      Delvin's family would like to thank Dr. Goggins and his team, especially Sam & Sallie, at Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology, as well at Dr. Kohl and his team at St. Elizabeth Hospital Oncology. Lois would also like to extend a special thank you to Sheila Oakley for all of her love, support, time and care that she has shown to both her and Delvin over the years and especially over the past several weeks.
