Dolores was born in Isaar, Wisconsin on July 17, 1918, daughter of the late Susana (Diedrick) and Raymond Flanagan. In October of 1939, she married Stanley "Sam" Cook in Appleton and was blessed with five children. Sam preceded her in death in 1974. Many will remember Dolores for the many years she was employed at Ford Rexall Drugstore in Appleton and for serving as a custodian at Edison School.

She is survived by four children: Dennis (Barb) Cook of Stockbridge; Sharon (Bob) Lohr of Madison; Carla (Dale) Oestreich of Watertown; and Sue (Archie) Dartsch of Rhinelander; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; sister: Phyllis (Dick) Huelsbeck of Appleton; a brother: Don Flanagan of Apopka, Florida; two sisters-in-law: May Cook of Appleton and Thelma Cook of Springfield, Missouri; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam, an infant daughter Diane Kay, a great-grandson Adam Hoerth, and siblings Floyd Flanagan, Jim Flanagan, Eulail Byrne, and Pearl Cycmanick.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street, with Chaplain Mike Williams and Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. Memorial contributions will be used to support Alzheimer's research as well as hospice care in the area.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers who assisted Dolores over the years. Special thanks to Rhonda Pingel and everyone at Care Partners, the loving staff of AseraCare Hospice, Dr. Wycoff and his staff, as well as Dolores' friend and hairdresser for nearly fifty years, Kathy Van Gompel. We will never forget all that you have done for us.
