      Age 71, died on Sunday, October 22, 1995 at New London following a lengthy illness. He was born on May 14, 1924 in the Township of Ellington, the son of William and Anna (Schilling) Breitrick. Dayton was a World War II Army veteran serving in the European Theatre and a member of the American Legion Post #55 of Hortonville. He was employed by Hortonville Wire Products as a machine operator for over 20 years until his retirement. On January 20, 1990 he was married to Betty Owen. He is survived by his wife and his children by marriage: Carol (Rick) Schroeder, Gillet; Sherrie (Marlin) Grimm, Boone, Iowa; Richard (Marianne) Smith, Hortonville; William (Laura) Owen, New London; seven grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law: Irving (Emeline) Breitrick, Hortonville; Emory (Adeline) Breitrick, Spring Hill, Florida; Calvin (Helen) Breitrick, Hortonville; two sisters: Florence Fiske, Appleton, Alice Jennerjohn, Greenville. Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Loren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 1995 at the Community Baptist Church, Hortonville. Burial with military rites will follow at Ellington Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home, Hortonville on Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. where the American Legion will assemble at 7 p.m. an at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
