- Dallas A. Curtis, age 83, of Appleton, fell asleep in the loving arms of the Lord, with an angel and his wife by his side at Brewster Village. Dallas was born in Waupaca on May 17, 1933 to the late Allen and Eleanor (Sievertson) Curtis. On May 14, 1960, he was united in marriage to Dolores Kemkes at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. The couple celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary earlier this year. Dallas worked as a fork lift operator at Paycon Corp for many years. He enjoyed model trains, watching the birds, eating at Angels Restaurant, and playing cards - but most of all, he loved the Lord and going to church, attending services several times each week.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores, Appleton; 2 sisters: Diane (Robert) Grulke, Amherst and Arlouine (Paul) Van Zeeland, Kaukauna. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Eleanor Noss, and a brother Carson T. Curtis.
A funeral service will take place at 11 am on Friday, October 21, at First United Methodist Church, 325 E. Franklin St. Appleton. Friends and relatives may visit at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel from 4 to 6 pm on Thursday, and directly at the church on Friday from 10 am until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Brewster Village for the compassionate care shown to Dallas, Father Gerald Falk and Father Jim Leary OFM Cap for the many prayers and blessings, and to James Zepnick and John Davids for their many years of friendship.
