- Cyril N. Pfeffer, 68, 121 Oak St., Chilton, passed away suddenly at Eagle River, Wis., Tuesday from an apparent heart attack.
A native of Chilton, Mr. Pfeffer was born Jan. 7, 1899, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius J. and Clara Pauly Pfeffer. On July 12, 1923 he married Irma Kroehnke at St. Marys Catholic Church, Chilton, who preceded him in death Nov. 3, 1962. On March 24, 1966, the deceased married Mrs. Anton Berger.
Mr. Pfeffer attended St. Marys parochial school and was a graduate of Chilton High School. He was employed as mail carrier for 44 years and at the Chilton Post Office and was presently retired.
The deceased was a member of the National Rural Mail Association, Knights of Columbus Council 2556 and the Holy Name Society of St. Marys Church.
Survivors are his wife, one son, James W., two step-daughters, Mrs. Victor (Jane) Grittner, and Mrs. James (Betty) Pfeffer, Chilton; four brothers, Aloysius and Earl, Chilton, Clarence, Stevens Point, and Dr. Elmer, Little Chute; six grandchildren and four step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. Marys Catholic Church, the Rev. Duane Dionne will be celebrant of the Mass. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Chilton.
