      Corneal J. DeJong, age 73, passed away Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2003 at the Appleton Medical Center. He was born November 12, 1929 in Wisconsin the son of the late Jacob and Mary (Brooks) DeJong. Corneal was an Army veteran and a member of the Freedom VFW and the Little Chute American Legion. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #8061 in Freedom.

      Corneal is survived by his three daughters: Lynn DeJong, Kimberly Lea DeJong, Two Rivers and Lisa DeJong, Freedom also a son, Neal DeJong, Kaukauna and a granddaughter, Kimberly. He is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Frank (Joyce) DeJong and his sisters: Rose Mary (Ken) Romenesko Betty (Don) Heitpas and Ardene (Ed) Welhouse.Friends may call at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom, on Thursday, March 13, 2003 from 3 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 5 p.m., with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. The burial will be in the parish cemetery. Military rites to follow by the Freedom VFW. The Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour is assisting the family.
