    • Clifford Owen Fischer passed away on Monday December 15, 2014 after a brief illness.

      Dad was born on September 12, 1927 in Kaukauna, WI to the late Edward and Veronica (O'Donnell) Fischer.

      He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Thomson on May 12, 1953, who preceded him in death on June 23, 1994. Together they raised six children who graced them with ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a third due in March.

      Dad was self-employed as a mechanic for many years before joining the City of Neenah Public Works Department where he formed long friendships with many fellow employees. He proudly served his country in the US Army from 1950-1952 where he was stationed in Korea and Japan and received the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars and Occupational Medal. Dad was an active member of the Menasha VFW Post 2126 were he held many positions over more than 35 years. In addition, he was a life member of the Wrightstown American Legion. He volunteered for over 19 years helping other veterans at the John H. Bradley Veterans Clinic. As a member of the VFW you could find him participating in the poppy sales, brat fries and helping to coordinate the Memorial Day Parade. Dad enjoyed helping the "elderly" with bingo at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Facility, and was honored to have participated in the Old Glory Honor Flight in September 2013.

      As a parishioner of St. Patrick's Parish, Menasha for almost 60 years, he served as an usher, sang in the choir and helped with Friday Fish Fries and Christmas Tree Sales. He consistently attended 8:30 am mass on Sunday, enjoying visiting time with the other parishioners.

      He will be sadly missed by surviving children: Dan Fischer, Alpharetta, GA; Sandy (Jon) Kneepkens, Kalamazoo, MI; Debbie (John) Galeazzi, Menasha, WI; David (Karen) Fischer, Bayside, WI; Denise (Scott) Sitzberger, Greenville, WI; Tina (Greg) Orheim, Menasha, WI; Grandchildren: Erin (Adam) Hadd, Katie (Dustin) Reck, Gina Galeazzi, Tyler Galeazzi (special friend Breana Mudrock), Lauren Fischer, Leah Fischer,

      Ben Orheim (special friend Tifani Gauger), Elizabeth Orheim, Megan Sitzberger and Payton Sitzberger; and Great-Grandchildren, Taylor Kneepkens and Alexis Hadd.

      He is further survived by Brothers-in-law: Carl (Mary Pat) Thomson, Vic Petersen, Jim Boyle; Sisters-in-law: Darlene Thomson, Marlene Fischer; Godchildren: Karen (Thomson) Meiers, Greg (Bill) Thomson, Jessica (Willes) Cleveland; many nieces and nephews that meant so much to him; Special friends Erv and Mary Willes and Jim and Joyce Stier and so many others too numerous to mention.

      He is preceded in death by our loving Mother, Pat; his parents, his in-laws Alfred and Ruth Thomson, his siblings and spouses: Ray and Janet Fischer, George Fischer, Catherine and Robert Ver Voort , Edward Fischer, Joseph Fischer; his in-laws: Jerry and Mary Jane Thomson (Bonnie), Bill and Avita Kramer, Greg and Rose Thomson (Carol), Louise Petersen, Roy Thomson, Mary Ellen Boyle; his nieces Vicki Ver Voort and Barb (Kramer) Ost, and nephew Charlie Fischer.

      Family and friends may call at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday December 18, 2014. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue at 10:00 am on Friday December 19, 2014 at St. Patrick's Parish, 324 Nicolet Blvd, Menasha followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am with Father Jim Hablewitz officiating. Military burial rites will be held following the mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
