      Peters, Clifford G.


      Clifford G. Peters, 88, Appleton, passed away May 15, 2009, at Cherry Meadows Hospice. He was born April 11, 1921, to Arthur and Alma Peters in Appleton. Cliff graduated from Appleton High School in 1940. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the Red Arrow Division. He married Bernice Lowenhagen on July 30, 1949. Cliff worked at the James River Paper Company as a Drafting Supervisor for 32 years until his retirement. He was a lifelong faithful member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.

      Cliff is survived by his two special nephews, Tim (Mary Sue) Woldt and their children, Derek (Jackie) Woldt, Jason Woldt and Stephanie (Freddie) Berger; Dennis (Julie) Woldt and their children, Dustin and Ryan; sister-in-law, Alice Peters; many other cousins, nieces and nephews.

      He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; two brothers: Donald (Delores) Peters and Dick Peters; a sister Dorothy (Russell) Peotter and a sister-in-law Elois (Leslie) Woldt.

      Funeral services for Cliff will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church (129 S. Mason St., Appleton) with Rev. Thomas Mielke officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may visit the family from 12 pm (Noon) until the time of services also at the church. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy memorials may be directed to St. Matthew Lutheran Church and Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

      The family of Cliff would like to thank the staff and friends at Touchmark, the Physician's and staff of Martha Siekman Center and Ray and Phyllis, Dale and Carol and Ginny for their care and friendship shown to Cliff.
