- Cleona E. Pomerenka, age 85, Menasha, died Monday March 26, 2012 at Vallhaven Care Center.
She was born to Gottlieb and Hannah (Putzig) Kitzman in Symco, Waupaca Co, WI. She was a graduate of Oshkosh High School. She worked at Kimberly Clark, Neenah before marrying the love of her life, Robert J. Pomerenka on October 25, 1947. Cleona was a full time wife and mother. As her children grew up, mom enjoyed volunteering for sports organizations and fund raisers. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Ev. Luth. Church, Neenah.
She is survived by her husband Robert Pomerenka, Sr., children: Rhonda (Timothy) Peterson, Vero Beach, FL; Renae (Robert) Van Heuklon, Appleton, Robert Pomerenka, Menasha; Richard (Pam) Pomerenka, Greenville; two grandchildren Nikole (Ali) Davis, New York, NY and Seth Van Heuklon, Appleton. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Eric W. Kitzman, Oshkosh and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the Staff at Vallhaven Care Center for all the care and support they gave Mom and her family.
It was mom's wishes to not have visitation or a service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. A memorial fund has been established.
