- Wittlin, Clarence E.
Clarence E. Wittlin, "Buster", Greenville, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 02, 2004 at his residence. Clarence was born on October 22, 1925 in Appleton, son of the late Erwin and Elizabeth (Dorn) Wittlin. On May 20, 1948 Clarence was united in marriage to Glenna Grossman in Mackville. He lived & farmed in the Township of Ellington for most of his life. Clarence also worked for several years as a plumber, Fox Tractor and then at Hortonville Wire Products until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed spending time with his family, collecting model tractors, was a member of the Greenville Seniors Card Club and was a volunteer fireman for the town of Ellington.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Glenna; a daughter Jane (David) Kettner, Greenville; two sons: David Wittlin, Hortonville; Randy Wittlin and special friend Laurie, New London. Clarence is further survived by three sisters: Marcella (Eugene) Paltzer, Appleton; Betty (Ernie) Paltzer, Appleton; Marilyn Nielson, Appleton; a brother Gerald (Winifred) Wittlin, Black Creek; eight grandchildren: Matthew, Michael, Joseph, Christine, Tony, Kim, Lindsey, Mitchell and also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Laurie Ann, a son Ronald, a daughter in-law Beverly Wittlin, a sister Evelyn Bauman and two brother in-laws Cyril Bauman and Harley Nielson.
Funeral mass for Clarence will be held on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville with Fr. Mark Vander Steeg officiating. Burial will be in St Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Stephensville. Friends may call at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. A 7:30 p.m. prayer service will held. Friends may also call at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
