- Clare P. Plesser, age 88, of Gahanna, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Monday, June 18, 2012. He was born to the late Bernard and Clara Plesser in Appleton, WI on October 8, 1923. Clare was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran. He was a proud member of The Knights of Columbus, the Gahanna Water Board, Charitable Works Community at St. Matthews, a St. Matthews Choir member, a volunteer at Traditions, and a part of Meals on Wheels. Clare was a loving and loyal family man and friend. He will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Stewart Plesser and sister Mary Rollowitz. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Dolly Plesser; children, Nancy (Bob Sutton) Morton, Susan (Dan) Strait, Barbara (Kenneth) Eichman, Margaret Mickey, and Joseph Plesser; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and a host of extended family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the St. Matthews Catholic Church, 870 Havens Corners, Gahanna, OH 43230, where family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Father Ryan Schmit, Celebrant.
