- Clara A. Newhouse, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 surrounded by the love of her children at her home in Freedom, WI.
She was born June 3, 1917 daughter of George G. and Rose (Coenen) Hermsen in the township of Vandenbroek.
On May 10, 1941 she was united in marriage to Emmett Newhouse at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna.
Survivors include her four children: Vernon (Maxine) Newhouse, Freedom; Marian (friend Wil Ayers) Newhouse, Appleton; Marlene (Victor) Brown, Seymour; Carol (Rex) Kessler, Appleton; 8 grandchildren: Daniel (Nickie) Newhouse, Jeff (Marci) Newhouse, Keith (fiancée Marcia Fischer) Newhouse; Gregory (Jennifer) Brown, Steven Brown, Justin (Heidi) Brown, Andrea (Daniel) Mirabelli, and Brent Kessler; 10 greeat-grandchilren: Brooke and Jacob Newhouse, Kendra and Bennett Brown, Kaylee and Kyle Brown, Clara Mirabelli, Adley Brown, Meagan Nystrom and Kaden Newhouse.
Surviving sisters and brothers are: Joseph (Lillian) Hermsen, Lorraine (late Leo) Hooyman, Eleanor (late Ed) Behling, Grace (Ralph) Schmidt, Mildren (Lawrence) Wippick, and Lloyd (Marlene) Hermsen.
Clara was preceded in death by her husband Emmett and 2 infant daughters, 3 sisters: Helen Vande Voort, Marian and Cecilia Hermsen, and a brother Raymond Hermsen.
Friends may visit at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 9 am until the time of the funeral mass at 11 am, officiated by Reverend Ricardo Basquinez. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Clara's whole life was devoted to her family and she blessed them with her unconditional love.
