Van Zeeland-Vande Hey, Cecilia M. "Ceil" Cecilia M. Van Zeeland Vande Hey, age 92, Little Chute, passed away peacefully Monday, February 6, 2006. She was born November 13, 1913, to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Diedrick) Hendricks in the Town of Vandenbroek. In 1935, she married Peter Van Zeeland and he preceded her in death in 1984. They were blessed with five children who were instilled with good values and work ethics. Peter and Ceil founded the Van Zeeland Oil Company in 1936. She was very active in the Golden Agers, St. Elizabeth Society and the Mission Club as well as a longtime member of St. John Church. Ceil was a great example of a good Christian mother who loved to shop, play cards, dance, enjoy a good joke, spend time at her cottage at Kelly Lake and all the fun times with her sisters. Attending all the functions involving her grandkids and great-grandkids was the highlight of her life. She will be dearly missed by all. In 1987, she married Leonard Vande Hey and he preceded her in death in 2002. Survivors include her five children: Paul (Ar) Van Zeeland, Kelly Lake; and their four children: Sue (Brad) Behnke, Mike (Jan) Van Zeeland, Barb (Jeff) Hackel and Chris (Dani) Van Zeeland; Chuck (Sue) Van Zeeland, Kaukauna; and their four children: Todd (Kelly) Van Zeeland, Tracy Van Zeeland, Carrie (Fred) Hubley and Michel Van Zeeland; Gary (Carole) Van Zeeland, Kaukauna; and their three children: Jay (Lois) Van Zeeland, Kelly Koch and Penny (Joel) Grissman; Greg (Pat) Van Zeeland, Darboy; and their three children: George ( Jessie) Schwalbach, Lace (Ryan) Luedke and Peter (Kristin) Van Zeeland; Betty Jo (Gary) Hooyman, Little Chute; and their three children: Chad (Jenn) Hooyman, Jill Hooyman and Kim (Dave) Thiel and 34 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Dorothy Kerkhoff, Magdelene (Melvin) Arts, Marian (Bob) Nelessen and Lillian (Leo) Gerrits; a special niece, Carole Frank and many other loved nieces and nephews. She is further survived by Leonard's children: Margie (Leo) Vosters, Vince (Val) Vande Hey, Phyllis (David) Wereley, Mary (Jim) Beschta, Bob (Jean) Vande Hey, Don (Mary Lou) Vande Hey, Roy (Deb) Vande Hey, Vicky (Dave) Gossens, Terry (Robin) Van Zeeland, Rebecca (Hector) Esparza; 25 step-grandchildren and 19 step-great- grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a younger brother, John Hendricks; sisters and brothers-in-law: Agnes (Clarence) Schreiber, Ethel (Hilary) Feldkamp and Mark Kerkhoff, Marian (Norbert) Van Zeeland, Hank (Minne) Van Zeeland, Frank (Emma) Van Zeeland, Joe (Harriet) Van Zeeland, Loretta (Leo) Rademacher, Bernard (Kate) (Christina) Van Zeeland and Len (Ruby) Van Zeeland. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2006, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, with Rev. Ken Frozena officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Little Chute. Friends may call at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
