- Cecilia "Ceil" (Albers) Heezen, 94, De Pere, passed away early Thursday morning, May 27, 2010, at a local hospital following a short illness. The daughter of the late Frank and Delia (Lamers) Albers was born Nov. 8, 1915.
On Aug.1, 1945 she married Lambert Heezen at St. Boniface Church, in De Pere. He preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1972.
Ceil worked at West De Pere High School retiring in 1986. She volunteered at Woodside and Rennes Nursing Homes, St. Vincent De Paul, Church Mission Group and sang with the funeral choir. Cecilia and her husband also took in several foster children over the years. Ceil enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, reading, and was an avid Packer fan.
Survivors include her daughter, Gladys Delmont, DeSoto, Texas; son, Paul (Lynn) Heezen and daughter-in-law, Laverne Heezen, De Pere; 12 grandchildren, Sue Ann (Darren) Aduddell, Dan (Melissa) Delmont, David Delmont, Sandra (Dave) Koneiczny, Mary Kay (Steve) Predayna, Donna (Mark) Schott, Sharon (Randy) Ellner, Kathy (Doug) Hoppe, Julie (Jody) Chosa, Jenny Heezen, Troy and his fiancee, Celeste, Kevin (Melissa) Heezen; 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; stepmother, Henrietta "Hattie" (Vanden Elzen) Albers; parents; son, Henry Heezen; son-in-law Thomas Delmont; sisters, Marie Carpiaux, Florence (Norbert) Mooren, Mae (Cyrus) Le Anna; stepbrothers, Matt (Lorraine), Richard (Hannah) and Bernard Hermans; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, Lourdes Avenue at Suburban Drive, De Pere, on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, from 9 a.m. until time of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Father Tim Shillcox, O. Praem, officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. RYAN FUNERAL HOME. 305 N.
